April 2011 Update from Dr. Feld

Dear Friends:

Life continues at the Feld’s, although I wish it would quiet down a bit. I just confirmed what I suspected and need…by-pass surgery for my heart. The consensus from the Doctors is to do it before chemo because chemo is too risky for my heart the way it is. I will need 4 or 5 by-passes and I’m going to do it at Cedar-Sinai in LA. I had a connection to the Head of Cardio-thoracic surgery and I took advantage of it. They have a whole program with dedicated teams to provide the best care possible. I am totally confident in them and will get the surgery on April 18th. Presently, I feel the best I have felt in a year. My back pain is minimal and I am working out to stay in shape. I miss everyone, but know I left you in capable hands. My love to you all.

Thank you for your support throughout these difficult times for me and my family. It seems like this stuff goes on forever. In fact, I don’t remember when there wasn’t a medical crisis in my family. In any event, I am doing pretty well. Halfway through the radiation and chemo to follow in February. I do promise to take photos if I lose my hair. That should be something else!!! I really miss working and seeing all of you. Talking to each and everyone of you was the best part of the job and I don’t feel it can be replaced. Maybe it takes time. I’ll have to wait and see. Please have a great start to the New Year and keep those thoughts and prayers coming. They do make a difference. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU! VIC

News from Dr. Feld 2011!

2011 is here…and Dr. Feld is doing his best to ring it in with the help of family and all of you for support! He is presently half-way through his radiation therapy…and is hoping to take some time off after that to visit friends and family in Florida ( he needs to get WARM). Then he will start with the chemotherapy portion of his treatment. So far he is feeling OK, but I know he misses all of you and wants to say “Happy New Year!” His Team

Dr. Feld is doing GREAT! He came to the office to visit us on Thursday, and other than looking like he needs to eat a Thanksgiving Dinner EVERY day…his color is back, right along with his sense of humor. He still sports his body armor, has occasional pain and twinges, and is not looking forward to radiation…but he is happy to be getting out and about. I know he appreciates each and every note, e-mail, card and letter that you all have sent to him. Lets all keep Dr. Feld in our hearts and prayers for a complete and speedy recovery! Although we all miss him around the office, we wish him the best as he enjoys some time with family.

We would like you to know that Dr. Feld flew home from San Francisco Sunday evening and is home trying to rest now and even calling the office to to see how WE’RE DOING….. you can’t keep a great man down!
